One World Week is a UK development education charity which aims to provide ‘an opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds to come together to learn about global justice, to spread that learning and to use it to take action for justice locally and globally’.

IMPORTANCE OF RESPECTING DIVERSITY IN SOCIETY

In relation to this initiative ‘Importance Of Respecting Diversity In Society’is available for use cross-college and for CPD. The module introduces learners to the following:

  • Meaning of Equality & Diversity

  • Definitions

  • Equality Act 2010

  • Diversity in Action

  • Acceptable Language

  • Changing Society

  • Diverse Groups in Society

  • Tolerance & Discrimination

The module has ‘OFF-THE-SHELF’ content, and software marks a multiple choice test at the end of the module, thus NO PREPARATION, NO TEACHING AND NO MARKING is required. The module requires 20-25mins to complete. MEASURABLE OUTCOMES mean SMT and Ofsted reports can be generated automatically.

DIVERSITY IN SOCIETY

‘Importance of Respecting Diversity in Society’ is the first module of the component AIM L1 Diversity in Society, which is generously funded by ESFA. Modules in this component include:

AIM PERSONAL & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

In turn ‘Diversity in Society’ is a component of AIM Personal & Social Development Skills which is generously funded by ESFA.

Components in AIM Personal & Social Development Skills include:

  • Personal Finances

  • Internet Safety for IT Users

  • Healthy Living

  • Drug Awareness

  • Alcohol Awareness

  • Diversity in Society
